The First Filipino Congress In The Diocese Of Saitama To introduce the Diocese, the work of the Open House, and the Seven Priorities of the Diocese for the next ten years the First Filipino Congress was held in Takasaki Church last July 31, 2011. Filipino representatives numbering around 150 from different parishes in Ibaraki, Saitama, Gunma and Tochigi attended the whole day affair. Highlight of the event was the Open Forum in which many questions, comments and suggestions from the small group sharing were presented to the Bishop. It gave the Pastoral Team and the Bishop a first-hand experience of how well the Filipino migrants know the Diocese its programs and how they received especially the Seven Priorities. The day ended with a deep sense of gratitude to God realizing how much the Diocese has been trying its best to answer their needs, accompany them in their plight and take care of their spiritual life.
