第2回待降節のフェスティバル(群馬) Sr.Marianita Tenoso,FI 2009/12/23(水)
About 150 Filipinos and their Fil.-Japanese children gathered at Maebashi Church last Dec. 6,2009 (Sunday) for the Second Advent Festival.Representatives from 11 Filipino communities in Gunma came to attend the festival and 9 churches made “parol” (colorful traditional Phil. Christmas lanterns) as Nakanojo,Tatebayashi,Omama, Isesaki,Numata, Takasaki,Maebashi, Takasaki and Honjo Fil. Comunities for the morning’s Parada Ng Mga Parol”. Prizes were given to the most beautiful, original and eco-friendly parol entries won by Isesaki Church (1st ), Honjo Church(2nd) and Omama Church (3rd ). The festival started at 11:30 am with the lantern parade and followed by a two-hour Christmas party at the Alleluia Hall. Then they transfered to the church at 2:00 pm for the “Advent Talk” given by Ms. Leny Tolentino (lay missionaryof Yokohama Diocese) and Mr. Alvin Valenzuela (CFC, Ota Church). Fr. Maxim gave a one hour confession as the talk was going on. Then the mass followed concluded by a Christmas Carol mini concert by Maebashi Filipino Choir and a re-enactment of the Nativity scene. |
